RacePace Tours In association with Tri Travel South Africa has created an one of an kind and very exciting cycling tours to date – in Africa! We will be riding new heights while the global cycling spotlight will shine on the vibrant city of Kigali from September 21st to 28th, 2025, to host the prestigious UCI Road World Championships for the first time on the African continent in the event’s 103-year history.
It is a momentous occasion and we offer our guests to embrace the joy of cycling and to kick-off our tour just on the day after the Elite men’s race will have paved and cleared the roads for us.

Day 1
ARRIVAL
• Arrival at Kigali International Airport
• Guests are transferred to the hotel for check in and to relax.
• Tri Travel will assemble bikes and prepare for the weeks riding
• Welcome dinner
*Optional – Depending on arrival times – Kigali city tour with visit of Genocide Memorial
Day 2
UCI LADIES ELITE RACE
• Make your way to various spectator points
• Lunch (Restaurant with screening of race)
• Move to finish line and watch finish from VIP stands
Day 3
UCI MEN’S ELITE RACE
• Enjoy the official UCI hospitality package and VIP experience while watching the men’s elite race.
Day 4
RIDE THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUTE
• Today’s ride will take us on the official World Championship route. Short but tough 51km ride with 1100m elevation.
Finish with lunch at a local cycling cafe.

Day 5
RIDE TO THE MIGHTY VOLCANOES
• We will make our way to the feet of the mighty volcanoes. Leaving Kigali behind us with a 108km ride and 2480m elevation

Day 6
MOUNT KABUYE RIDE
• Todays ride will take us around Mount Kabuye, the tallest freestanding moutain in Rwanda.
Distance: 72km Elevation: 1466m
Day 7
KIVU BELT ROAD
The Kivu Belt Road – considered as the most beautiful road in East Africa will be our route for today.
Distance: 79km Elevation: 2290m
Day 8
LAKE KIVU REST DAY
A well deserved rest day! We will explore Lake Kivu with an exciting island hopping experience. As well as a visit to Napoleon Island.
Day 9
NYUNGWE RAINFOREST
Todays ride will consist of shorter climbs and end with the highlight – the final climb into the Nyungwe Rainforest, throughGisakura Tea Plantation. Return to hotel with a boat trip.
Distance: 96km Elevation: 2600m
Day 10
LAST RIDE
Making our way back to Kigali, guests will ride a 17 km climb and finish 40km before Kigali.
Distance: 99 km Elevation: 2238m
Day 11
TIME FOR GOODBYES
All good things must come to an end… Bikes to be reboxed by our team and guests will be transferred to the airport for the respective departure times.
